MLA AGM – One week to vote by proxy
07 November 2011
Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) members have just over one week to go until the Annual General Meeting (AGM) proxy voting deadline. Members who are not attending the meeting are being encouraged to return their proxy voting forms by 2pm (Queensland time) Tuesday 15 November 2011.
For members who want to cast their vote in person, the AGM will be held in Longreach on Thursday 17 November 2011
All MLA members should have now received their AGM packs in the mail, including the notice of meeting and proxy forms. The proxy form indicates the resolutions to be voted on at the AGM and the member voting entitlement. MLA members who did not return their levies notice are automatically entitled to one vote at the AGM.
Members are being asked to vote on the following resolutions:
- The election of first-time nominees as Directors of MLA:
- Strategy and corporate governance specialist Michele Allan
- QLD cattle producer Geoff Maynard
- NSW sheep producer Rodney Watt
- The election of member representatives to the Selection Committee:
- Cattle producers will be asked to vote on the election of Ian McCamley from QLD
- Lot feeders will be asked to vote on the election of Warren Barnett from NSW
- Sheep producers will be asked to vote on the election of Ben Hooper Tasmania
- A special resolution put forward by a group of members calling for MLA to be wound up before December 2012
Members who are unable to attend the AGM must complete and return their proxy form by 2pm (QLD time) on Tuesday 15 November. This year, for the first time, the proxy form may be completed online at www.computershare.com.au/mlavoting, alternatively it may be faxed to 1800 022 040.
For replacement proxy forms members can email membership@mla.com.au or call 1800 675 717.
