Lamb & sheep Industry programs

Making More From Sheep
Developed by MLA and AWI along with almost 250 leading sheep and wool producers and technical experts, the package enables sheep producers to maximise the potential from key aspects of their enterprise, from managing the soil through to marketing.

Sheep Genetics
Sheep Genetics provides a platform for standardisation, calculation and use of credible and accurate breeding information across all sectors of the Australian sheep industry.

LAMBPLAN
LAMBPLAN is the national genetic evaluation program for the Australian prime lamb industry.

MERINOSELECT
MERINOSELECT provides simple, practical information for Merino breeders and producers on the genetic potential of their animals, by ranking them for various production characteristics, in the form of Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs).

Sheep Genomics
The five-year $30 million initiative will assist sheep producers to use advanced genetics to fine tune their flocks for specific needs, whether they are for improved fibre, more muscle, increased fertility, or better ability to cope with parasites.

National Vendor Declarations (NVD)s
Producers use the NVD/Waybill to declare valuable information about the food safety status of the livestock being sold. Buyers rely on the NVD/Waybill for accurate information on the livestock purchased and processors rely on the information to ensure only the safest food enters our food chain.
