Glen Feist Regional Manager- Japan
Glen spent the first 20 years of his career in the supermarket sector, moving through the ranks to become a proprietor of two successful supermarkets. Glen saw the opportunity to market and educate Asians in all aspects of Australian meat. He moved to Singapore 1987 and set up a consultancy firm called “Prime Advice”. He was quickly picked up as a consultant to the then Australian Meat and Livestock Corporation (AMLC). This role saw Glen working throughout Asia educating and marketing Australian meat to all end users, including importers, wholesalers, hotels and retailers to consumers.
In 1992 he was offered a position as Manager, Meat Manufacturing and Merchandising for Welcome Supermarkets in Hong Kong. He subsequently rose to the position of Director Fresh Food Supply Chain. In January 2003 Glen accepted a position with Meat and Livestock Australia as Regional Manager – Korea. In this role he was responsible for building demand for Australian beef, sheep and goat meat in Korea.

Jim Lim
Regional Manager - Korea
Jim has over 18 years of corporate experience in Australia, Korea, and Hong Kong. He built his career as a professional manager at various global companies, and served as a country general manager for Telstra, and its group companies of Level 3 Communications and REACH Networks. He was also the head of Swedish security solutions company ASSA ABLOY’s Korea office. Jim has also worked for KPMG, Vodafone, and SK’s regional office in Sydney. With a clear understanding of the Korean market and a global business perspective, Jim became the first bilingual Korean-born Australia national regional manager of the MLA Korea Office since MLA first ventured into Korea in 1989. Jim graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Sydney in Economics and Labour Law & Relations, respectively. In 1997, he achieved his CPA license and is a member of CPA Australia. In the past, Jim stood as the director of the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Korea, and as a committee member of the Australian Business Group in Korea. He is also currently serving as Secretary for the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Korea.

Lachlan Bowtell
Regional Manager - Middle East and North Africa
With more than 10 years experience working in the red meat industry, Lachlan Bowtell was appointed MLA Regional Manager, Middle East and North Africa, in June 2009.
Lachlan spent the first 13 years of his career as a chef with several major global hotel groups. From there he moved into sales and marketing roles in the food manufacturing sector in both domestic and international markets .
He joined the then Australian Meat & Livestock Corporation (AMLC) in 1995 as a State Foodservice Manager in NSW where he successfully increased the penetration of red meat options on menus.
Lachlan began his career with MLA in 1998 holding several roles including National Foodservice Manager and Trade Marketing Manager. Here he faced the challenges of the red meat industry head on and has been instrumental in the successful delivery of many of MLA’s key initiatives.

Scott Hanson
Regional Manager- North America
After growing up on a Queensland property , Scott's career has kept him close to rural origins. After graduating with a Rural Science degree from the University of New England, Scott spent time working in agricultural industries in Europe and the Middle East.
Roles as executive director of the Victorian Farmers Federation Pastoral Group and the Sheepmeat Council of Australia have given him an ideal perspective on both producer and industry interests, while a period with the Victorian Department of Primary Industries allowed him to develop a strong understanding of Governments engagement and role in the progression of the livestock industry.
Since joining MLA in 2004, Scott has been General Manager for Corporate Communications and from 2006 also had the responsibility for MLA's livestock export program in South East Asia and the Middle East. Scott was appointed MLA Regional Manager for North America in July 2009.

David Jones
Regional Manager- Europe/Russia
Since July 2007, David's role at MLA has been improving market access into Europe and seeking opportunities for Australian meat into the Russian Federation. He has a Diploma in Advanced Management from the Charles Sturt University, Riverina and is a qualified ISO auditor.
After migrating from Wales In 1972 David has been heavily involved in the meat industry from butcher stores, to a meat inspector to the early beef classification systems introduced in Queensland and self regulation hygiene system of meat premises.
In 1987 David was offered a role at the AMLC as an Area Manager with AUS-MEAT. In 1993, David was the Senior Training Manager for the AUS-MEAT training/accreditation unit and carried out additional training for the Malaysian Government and AMLC in the Persian Gulf Region.
In 1995 David moved to Bahrain as the Middle East/Africa Technical Manager, he later became the Regional Manager and was also responsible for the implementation of access programs in South Africa. On his return to Sydney in 2005, he joined the Economic Marketing and Planning Team Business Unit in MLA.

Aaron Iori
Regional Manager - South Asia
With a career focused on servicing the red meat industry Aaron started his working life with the former NSW Meat Industry Authority and moved into MLA's Livestock Reporting Service unit. Throughout this period he was heavily involved with bringing together a variety of individual state based services to form a national, standardised system, NLRS. He was promoted to Manager of NLRS in 2004 and was responsible for overseeing the entire operation.
More recently Aaron managed the NLIS, which involved overseeing the database development, service delivery and standard management of the red meat and livestock industry traceability and food safety systems before staring his role as MLA Regional Manager for South Asia in April 2009.
Aaron is very well credentialed to assist the promotion and marketing of red meat for MLA in the vital South-East Asia and Greater China region. |
