Sheepmeat
Australian sheepmeat exports to Russia have been largely dominated by mutton over the last decade.
Australian mutton exports to Russia totalled 2,613 tonnes swt in 2011, back 31% on 2010 shipments. Lamb has recently gained an increased percentage of total sheepmeat exports, making up 33% of exports in 2011, at 1,284 tonnes swt. Australian lamb is mainly destined to retail and foodservice, supporting the growing high end meat sector in western Russia.
