Lloyd Kingham - New South Wales

Lloyd Kingham is the NSW MBfP and Making More from Sheep State Coordinator and advocates a "back to basics" approach to rebuilding the State's herd following drought.
Lloyd is based in Wagga Wagga with Industry & Investment NSW (I&I NSW) and, after five years working as the Eastern Riverina drought support worker, is looking forward to focussing on productivity and profitability through the MBfP program. As Lloyd explains, MBfP is about "closing the loop" on research and development (R&D) by making sure clever ideas resulting from producer funded R&D are easily incorporated into production systems and on farm gains result.
Accredited workshops 4 many of which are approved under the DAFF FarmReady scheme 4 will be delivered to small groups of interested producers through events across the State by both I&I NSW beef cattle officers and technical specialists, along with agribusiness specialists from private enterprise.
Practical field days, attracting large numbers of producers, are also planned to allow hands on skills development. Usually accompanied by vigorous discussion, these field days will include MBfP Producer Advocates who will express their opinion on the role some of the research outputs have to play in their own livestock enterprise.
