Interested in hosting a Meat Profit Day in your local area? Bring industry experts to your local area to discuss the topics and issues that you and your neighbours want to hear about.
How does is work? Meat Profit Days are developed and run by MLA in partnership with a local organising committee, which is dominated by producers.
The Committee is responsible for:
- identifying which research projects, red meat marketing activities and industry programs will be of interest and value to the region’s meat industry
- working with MLA to harness sponsorship opportunities at a local level
- carrying out the many tasks required to make the MPD a reality - such as developing the theme, organising a program and setting up the venue on the day
MLA is responsible for:
- contributing funding towards the event (supplemented by commercial sponsorship) and ensuring the day meets MLA member requirements
- providing professional event-management support and advice to the Committee through MLA’s Events team
- providing knowledge about levy-funded programs to the Committee for inclusion in the program
A successful MPD:
- provides the opportunity for personal discussion and interaction between technical specialists, sponsors and red meat producers in a structured manner
- has a program which is directly relevant to local industry needs. This is achieved because of the high level of input provided by local, innovative producers
- uses keynote speakers who cause producers to “think outside the square”
- ensures a high degree of professionalism and innovation
- integrates the role of commercial sponsors into the program, so that sponsors are seen to be an integral element of the program rather than an “add-on”.
