Livestock Fodder Declarations
A completed commodity vendor declaration (CVD) or by-product vendor declaration (BVD) should be obtained from the supplier of livestock fodder. A BVD or CVD indicates the chemicals that the product has been exposed to, if any.
Commodity Vendor Declaration (CVD)
By-Product Vendor Declaration (BVD)
Livestock producers are warned to take particular care when trying to source stock fodder as drought feed to avoid the potential risks of crop by-products and failed crops. Materials that have not been produced specifically as stock feed could cause unacceptable chemical residues in animal products. Use of a BVD or related documentation is also outlined in element 3 of the LPA program.
