Meat Standards Australia™ (MSA) is a beef and sheepmeat eating quality program that labels beef  and sheepmeat with a guaranteed grade and recommended cooking method to identify eating quality according to consumer perceptions.

  • MSA registered producers and licensed plants login here to access the Feedback and benchmarking system.
  • This program has replaced the previous Feedback Report Writer (FRW) program and should be accessed to retrieve grading data. The program allows users to collect and analyse their MSA grading data and also to benchmark against industry averages.

Guaranteeing eating quality

  • MSA has established eating quality standards based on over 520,000 consumer taste tests.
  • A wide range of cattle and sheep management practices, processing systems, cuts, ageing periods and cooking methods have been researched to determine the impact each has on eating quality.  

License and registration

  • MSA, Meat Standards Australia and the rosette device are registered Trademarks of Meat and Livestock Australia Limited.
  • Participants in the MSA program must be licensed to use the Trade Mark and Certified products. To find out how to become MSA licensed please call 1800 111 672.
