Producers, feedlots and saleyards can find information about EUCAS accreditation on the AQIS website.
In addition to complying with EUCAS rules, producers must use NLIS ear tags or rumen boluses and interact with the NLIS database to provide full and accurate records of the status and location of their EU-accredited cattle. When selling or moving EU cattle, producers are also required to use an EU National Vendor Declaration click here to view a sample declaration.
Saleyards must notify the database when they receive EU cattle. They should also check the EU status of all animals on the database prior to sale and finally, let the database know to whom the animals were sold within 24 hours of the sale.
For more information contact the EUCAS Hotline on 1800 305 544, send an email to eucas@aqis.gov.au or contact AQIS. Alternatively you can consult your local Department of Primary Industries office or Livestock Health and Pest Authority.
