Live cattle update - September 2007
Australian live cattle exports during September slowed, with Indonesia the only market to record a year-on-year increase in shipments. Exports for September totalled 51,481 head, down 24% on the same period last year and the lowest September total since 1995 (Australian Bureau of Statistics).
While exports for the month were primarily made up by shipments to Indonesia, increasing 23% year-on-year, exports declined to all other markets, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan and Saudi Arabia. Exports for September were valued at A$35.4 million.
