MLA's communications to health care professionals reinforces the relevance of red meat's nutrients, especially iron and zinc, for their patients. Communication activities include:

    Provides an update on new research and its application for practitioners

Nutrition research program

The nutrition research program was developed in consultation with nutrition experts, to ensures up-to-date, credible and relevant evidence about the role of red meat in a healthy diet consistent with national health priorities.

 

Since 2000, the program has funded over 33 national studies conducted by a wide range of research institutions nationally. These include the CSIRO Total Wellbeing Diet and the Teenage Anti Acne Diet.
