Loving lamb in Japan

MLA Japan will spread the love with lamb this Valentine's Day in its new seasonal promotion 'Love x Love x Lamb'.

To support an increase in lamb consumption, MLA Japan developed the campaign to encourage consumers to eat Aussie Lamb and men to cook lamb for someone they love on Valentine's Day. 

Promotional activities surrounding the event include a special website devoted to the campaign, giveaways and advertising across newspapers, and several lifestyle and men's magazines.

New processing website launched
MLA has launched a new website for the off-farm sector covering topics associated with processing and value-adding.

The website provides information on products and services developed by MLA that benefit the red meat industry. Information is also available on innovation areas being addressed by MLA, professional development programs, outcomes from industry funded projects and working with MLA in collaborative programs and R&D projects.

Australian cattle trade rules and cattle contract pro forma review
A review of the Australian cattle trade rules (ACTR) and cattle contract was necessary with the delisting of cattle futures on the Sydney Futures Exchange. With the review now complete, Grain Trade Australia (GTA) in its secretariat role to the cattle industry, is circulating drafts of the amended ACTR and cattle contract for industry comment.

Submissions must be lodged to admin@graintrade.org.au by 5pm AEDST 12 February 2010 with the subject line – Australian Cattle Trade Rules & Cattle Contract pro forma review.
