AgriSure/LPA QA
Following a strategic review of the Livestock Production Assurance Quality Assurance (LPA QA) (incorporating CATTLECARE and FLOCKCARE) program, a new initiative called AgriSure was identified and is under development.
Based on feedback provided by producers during the review process, a new structure for the on-farm quality assurance program is being developed.
LPA QA served a purpose, however, the market has evolved and the program standards that underpin the program needed to evolve too. Program custodians, MLA and AUS-MEAT are working together to modify the standard. The outcome will be a program that is modern and flexible where optional modules can be built in order to better meet business requirements.
How will AgriSure assist producers?
AgriSure will be a practical, relevant and instructive program that helps producers:
- Demonstrate integrity - AgriSure extends beyond the product to encompass the world-class ethics and standards that underpin the overall production business.
- Meet responsibilities - AgriSure equips producers with what they need to adapt to evolving market demands and empowers producers to take responsibility for the future of their businesses and the industry as a whole.
- Future-proof the industry - AgriSure creates systems that anticipate future developments so producers can take action when necessary to minimise consequences and seize opportunities.
Until the standards and rules for AgriSure have been finalised, producers involved in the previous LPA QA program (incorporating CATTLECARE and FLOCKCARE) should continue to operate as usual.
More information will be provided as the modifications to the standard continue.
