Sheepmeat is not a major part of the Korean diet and is considered a niche market and includes specific lamb restaurants, fine dining and restaurants.

However, Australian sheepmeat exports to Korea have increased steadily for the past five years, with the 2015 volume at 7,775 tonnes swt.

Lamb exports reached 6,267 tonnes swt in 2015, while mutton exports reached 1,508 tonnes swt.
