On-farm
On-farm R&D plan 2006-2011
MLA has developed a strategic plan for R&D into livestock production that spans over five years. This plan provides the framework for how and where producer levies and Australian Governmentfunds will be invested in livestock production R&D.
The plan follows extensive industry consultation and considers the strategies of organisations including rural research and development corporations (RDCs), cooperative research centres (CRCs), state government departments of primary industry, the CSIRO and universities.
Between February 2005 and April 2006, a number of workshops were held across Australia with key MLA stakeholders to develop a new strategic plan for livestock production research and development. Following discussions with peak industry councils, the plans were endorsed by the MLA Board in May 2006.
