Integrity Systems Company has recently released a new suite of fact sheets that explain the integrity system for beef, sheep and goat producers.

The global reputation of Australia’s $22.9 billion red meat industry is built on our integrity system which involves food safety measures, quality assurance and traceability from paddock to plate.

Cattle Council of Australia’s Peter Hall says for producers, adhering to the requirements of the system means they can stand by what they sell and seek out the best possible price for their livestock.

“The system has been in place for nearly two decades but was last year brought under a single management structure at Integrity Systems Company. Integrity Systems Company is focused on integrating the system’s elements and making it easy for producers to use,” Mr Hall said.

A suite of factsheets detailing what the integrity system means for cattle, sheep, and goat producers have been developed to shine a light on how it fits together. They are designed to be a refresher for those who have been using elements of the system - Livestock Production Assurance, National Vendor Declarations and the National Livestock Identification System - for many years, and a good starting point for those wanting to understand the system.

Sheep Producers Australia’s Allan Piggott encouraged producers to take a look at the information that is available on how the system works and why it is so important. “It’s imperative that producers understand the system and the value it delivers to each and every farm business.”
