Reporting back on global markets
26 February 2016
MLA’s International Business Managers returned to Australia recently from their overseas markets to engage in a series of consultations with Peak Industry Councils and producers from around the country.
MLA has International Business Managers on the ground covering our key international markets including China, North America, southern Asia, Middle East/North Africa, South Korea, Japan, Europe and Russia. By living ‘in market’ these Managers are uniquely placed to provide market information, identify opportunities and help grow demand for Australian red meat exports.
The visit presented an opportunity for the Managers to provide a global outlook for Australia’s red meat over the coming 12 months, a snapshot of the current situation in the market where they are based, the opportunities and challenges within markets and how MLA is ensuring we maximise those opportunities in-market across the entire red meat supply chain.
Here is a sample of the media coverage which was generated during the Australian visit:
- ‘Beef exports to US and Japan slowdown in January, but Meat and Livestock Australia remains optimistic’
- ‘Global markets held dear’
- ‘Aussie beef needs to watch the competition in China’
- ‘Serving it up to red meat’s competition’
- ‘Aussie beef defends its ground in Japan’
