Numbers rise

Consignments increased 8% this week, with 21,859 head yarded in all MLA reported saleyards .

  • Roma store yarded 8,205 head, up 13%
  • Dalby slipped 10%, yarding 5,445 head
  • Emerald supply lifted 32%, yarding 2,600 head
  • Charters Towers yarded 1,726, up 16%
  • Roma Prime jumped 23%, yarding 1,205 head
  • Warwick, Toowoomba Landmark  and Toowoomba Elders  all yarded 1,205, 787 and 592 head, respectively

Prices mixed

D2 calves to restockers averaged 268¢, back 30¢, while light C2 vealer steers leaped 27¢, to average 340¢/kg. The D2 light vealer heifers to feed sold between 220¢ to 284¢ and settled on 256¢, back 6¢/kg.

C2 medium yearlings steers sold to restockers at an average of 326¢, up 4¢, while heavier C2 yearling steers to feed sold at a 2¢ increase, averaging 323¢kg. Heavy C3 yearling steers sold to restockers at a top price of 336¢, averaging 314¢, down 2¢/kg. Heavy C3 feeder steers eased 2¢, to average 321¢/kg.

Light D2 yearling heifers sold to restockers at an average of 279¢, down 2¢, while D2 light yearling heifers to feed were also down 2¢, to average 246¢/kg. Heavy yearling heifers to slaughter sold between 265¢ and 320¢, to average 291¢, up 8¢/kg.

Heavy grown C4 steers averaged 307¢, up 1¢, while C4 bullocks sold to 327¢ and averaged 315¢/kg. Light grown D4 heifers sold to processors at an average of 258¢, slipping 19¢/kg.

Medium D4 cows averaged 252¢, down 5¢, while heavy D3 cows sold to 270¢ and averaged 251¢/kg. Heavy D4 cows averaged 265¢, back 2¢kg.
