SA lamb supply jumped 37% week-on-week in MLA reported saleyards, with 15,615 head penned.
- The SA Livestock Exchange consigned 11,581 head, representing a 28% increase
- Numbers at Naracoorte increased 68%, to 4,034 head
Trade weight 3 score new season lambs increased 10¢, averaging 515¢, while heavy 3 score lambs reached 546¢ and averaged 506¢, back 15¢/kg cwt. Heavy 4 scores to processors sold between 448¢ and 548¢ and averaged 483¢, back 46¢/kg cwt.
Heavy 3 score Merino old lambs averaged 423¢, back 40¢/kg cwt.
Total mutton throughput increased 15% from last week, totalling 4,171 head.
- Consignments at SA Livestock Exchange increased by 36%, to 3,000 head
- Numbers at Naracoorte eased 18% to 1,171 head
Heavy weight 3 score Merino ewes reached 348¢ and averaged 296¢ to be 28¢/kg cwt cheaper.
3 score heavy weight Merino wethers averaged 347¢, back 11¢/kg cwt.
