Summary
Conducted a supplementary survey of beef cattle producers to collect information on the age composition of Australian beef cattle herd. Included the findings of the survey in the 2011 Beef Industry report. Results were provided for northern and southern Australia as well as at the state and national level. Production of a beef industry report and slaughter lamb industry report focused on the key physical and financial changes in both industries in the past year based on data collected from the ABARES annual agricultural and grazing industry survey which is also partly funded by MLA.
Each report contained relevant tables and charts to accompany the text and the data used in the tables and charts also provided to MLA in Microsoft Excelformat. Each report was co-badged with the MLA and ABARES logos and also reference the accompanying online beef, lamb and sheep database developed by ABARES for MLA.
