Summary

These projects covered the costs associated with MLA and ALFA industry consultation processes. This includes conducting the annual survey of accredited feedlots, which prioritises and provides feedback on the proposed R&D expenditure for the coming year. The annual survey is conducted in conjunction with the Australian Lot Feeders Association.
In addition, regional workshops are conducted to provide industry stakeholders with updates on the R&D projects under management, and to obtain feedback on program performance and priorities for future work.
Two workshops are conducted annually with the veterinarians, nutritionists, and environmental science service consultancy providers to industry. These workshops are utilised as a mechanism for transfer of R&D information to these consultants, who are one of the major extension agents used by industry, and to gather their feedback, based on what they are seeing in the field, on priority issues for R&D investment.
