Summary

The producer initiated research demonstration sites (PIRD) and producer demonstration sites (PDS) programs aim to provide a participatory learning opportunity for red meat producers to undertake research and demonstration of research outputs in a locally and commercially relevant context.
This suite PIRD and PDS were cancelled or terminated early either due to seasonal conditions or due to lack of group participation. The PIRD & PDS topics include mineral effects on perennial ryegrass and phalaris, tripling winter pasture growth rates, early weaning calves onto pasture, traditional vs modern pastures, beef business performance analysis, lamb production in pastoral areas, prevention of grass tetany, feeding mallee lambs, non protein nitrogen supplementation, regional specific pasture production and maximizing beef production through grazing management.
