Development of a National University Beef Production Curriculum and Teaching Resource

Summary

The purpose of this project was to fund the editing and preparation of a tertiary level textbook for publication.The textbook, published as Beef Cattle Production and Trade is the first beef production specific tertiary textbook that covers all aspects of beef production in Australia.The book has been published by CSIRO Publishing and contains chapters on world beef consumption; carcase and meat quality; market preparation; and beef production in North America, Brazil, China, South-East Asia, Japan and Australia. The book also covers topics including production systems; animal husbandry; grazing, feeding and finishing; genetics and breeding; environmental management and business management.
