Summary

MLA is committed to supporting the Australian red meat industry to adapt to change through building the capacity of producers as well as advisers, researchers, scientists and students in the livestock science area. Capacity building is the fostering of people's ability to acquire knowledge and manage change to achieve goals.
MLA supported a number of capacity building scholarships to encourage change management practices for increased profitability and sustainability across the industry. Scholarships sponsored by MLA include the Mt Eliza Meat Executive Program for female red meat producers and the Australasia-Pacific Extension Network (APEN) for red-meat extension officers.
