Funding for goat industry events: meeting expenses, sponsorship, strategic planning

Summary

Multiple projects since 2008 have been established to cover expenses in relation to a variety of goat specific events across the country. This included things such as a Research and Development (R&D) workshop in May 2011 to assist in guiding the strategic development of the goat industry as well as extension events such as demonstrations, field days, expos and trade shows and sponsorship for ad-hoc producer initiated events. Funds were used for items such as printing, promotion, freight, catering, venue hire and sponsorship of guest speaker travel. Funds were allocated to support these activities from 2008/09 through to 2017/18. Further, funds were provided to cover the cost of the development of a 2020 goatmeat and livestock industry strategic plan and the industry consultation undertaken in relation to this.
