Summary

Following extensive feedback from red meat producers regarding the MyMLA component of the MLA website, Meat & Livestock Australia has implemented a Single Sign-On service: the ability to use one user name and password for key Integrity and Information Systemssuch as National Livestock Identification System (NLIS), Livestock Production Assurance (LPA), National Vendor Declarations (NVDs), and Live Data Link (LDL).

To support this development of the Single Sign-on (SSO) service, numerous projects have been contracted:

  • An upgrade to the eNVD software application to allow it to work with the new MyMLA SSO server.
  • The upgrade allows the MyMLA login to work foreNVD via Web API. This includes allowing LPA and NLIS users to authenticate and access the eNVD system using their credentials, as well as having an account chooser for when there is more than one account linked to the MyMLA login.
  • ASSO Security Testing Project is to identify any weaknesses within the NLIS or SSO System software or infrastructure that would allow an attacker’s deliberate attempts to compromise the system.
  • Funding for monthly infrastructure hosting fees with Dimension Data for the core SSO Identity Services.
