Summary

Business EDGE (Southern) workshops are practical workshop sessions and learning opportunities developed and promoted by MLA to help producers develop knowledge and skills to improve their business skills and therefore productivity and profitability.

The purpose of this project was to market, deliver and evaluate the Business EDGE (Southern) producer workshops throughout Victoria and Tasmania. 

The project delivered integrated, outcome focused, MLA-driven producer education, training and coaching to improve whole business performance established and underpinned by robust monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

Objectives

MLA invests in the development of the BusinessEDGE workshop resources, including the development of a producer workshop manual, presentation slides, facilitator notes, financial tools, reference notes and  evaluation and review sheets.

MLA also assists in the marketing and promotion of Business EDGE workshops via its traditional avenues of MLA Web site, Friday Feedback and membership emails.

Benefits to industry

Business EDGE and its subsequent projects help improve the business skills of MLA's producers, with the aim of improved efficiency and sustainability of the Australian red meat industry.

Business EDGE (Southern) is an ongoing commercial product offered by MLA through approved delivery organisations. MLA continues to ensure the relevancy and currency of the workshop material through continuous review by qualified lead Business EDGE deliverers.
