Angus Australia Collaborative Innovation Strategies Partnership program

Angus Australia places a high priority on innovation as a critical element in maintaining its leading position in the beef industry. Whilst Angus Australia and its members have generally been very innovative over the last 2 decades, prior to the commencement of this project there was a lack of formal organisational focus on innovation.  For example, there was no dedicated human resources specifically allocated to foster innovation within the organisation or to accelerate the uptake of innovation by Angus Australia members. Consequently, innovation opportunities were identified and funded in a rather ad-hoc manner and not as an integral part of the organisation's strategic plan.

Participation in the CISP has resulted in a more structured focus on innovation by the Angus Australia board, staff and members. This has influenced investment priorities to ensure human and financial resources are available to pursue new concepts and opportunities that don't fit within the traditional breed association services, including a specific focus on enhancing the innovation capability of members.
