Summary

Bredwell Fedwell (BWFW) is a practical, one-day workshop which highlights the key production benefits of genetics, plus feed management for improved reproduction and aims to improve the knowledge, skills and confidence of producers in managing ewe nutrition and selecting genetics. The workshop commenced in 2011 and a total number of 3323 participants have attended 131 workshops across the country.
The workshop has consistently resulted in an increase in producer understanding of how to use ASVBs and an increase in understanding of the importance of managing ewe nutrition.Post workshop survey results of participants show a 10-20% lift in the number of producers undertaking a wide range of management practices and in particular report up to 50% in the case of the use of condition scoring of ewes.
