Ewe lamb joining made easy – Bokhara open day
This interactive session will introduce the Producer Demonstration Site (PDS) project focused on improving adoption of ewe lamb joining practices. Despite low adoption rates (30% in maternal flocks and 5% in Merino flocks), research shows that joining ewe lambs at 7−10 months can deliver scanning rates up to 97% and weaning rates up to 80%, boosting enterprise profitability.
What to expect:
- Project background and aims
- Step-by-step best-practice methodology
- Common barriers and misconceptions
- Insights from recent research investments
- Husbandry tips
- Q&A with facilitators and hosts
