Collie Field Day returns for 2026
What started as an information sharing session six years ago has since become a staple in the Collie region of NSW, and now the Collie Field Day will return on 1 April, bigger and better than ever.
Proudly delivered in conjunction with the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) Measured Goats team, the Collie Field Day is a free event that has set the benchmark for network and support to goat producers in the region, consistently attracting crowds of around 100 people.
Organisers and hosts, Craig and Jo Stewart, believe the free event is so important as it ensures the latest information, research and resources are available to all goat producers.
“20-odd years ago, when we were starting out, there wasn’t nearly enough information out there to help us make informed decisions about our herd and production,” Craig said.
“Today, the investment in industry has improved tenfold. It’s important that we take advantage of the research.
“There is always a better way to do something or become more productive. To keep the industry thriving, it’s important that we all have a level playing field.”
In its sixth year, Craig and his fellow organisers have committed to continuing the legacy of the Field Day by delivering it at no cost for attendees.
“It’s a free event because we want to remove any barriers and ensure that everyone who attends has a 100% return on their investment in time and travel to get out here,” Craig said.
This year, the event will follow a buck breeding workshop held by the DPIRD Measured Goats team the day prior, on 31 March in Collie.
