Summary

​Education program
MLA currently works with two educational service providers to ensure effective outreach of information about food production and farming to school aged children.
The Primary Industry Education Foundation of Australia (PIEFA) aims grow student understanding of the role of, and the practices in agriculture, forestry's and fisheries industries for the betterment of agriculture utilising their relationship with the Department of Education.
Kimberlin Education are a private contractor who have developed specific lesson plans and content around the red meat industry and aligned to the national curriculum and that is employed to conduct lessons based on MLA data and hosted by teachers on digital platforms to reach school age children with factual information on farming. 28 video classes will be conducted during terms one and two during 2016 reaching a potential 7,000 primary school children in metropolitan areas.
Development of 5 teacher guides for COSMOS magazine at a cost of $37,000.
The objective of the Target 100 study guides is to educate Australian high school students about the sustainability of the cattle and sheep industry, and the measures the industry and farmers are putting in place to protect the environment, through teachers incorporating the study guides into lessons and assignments for students.
COSMOS guides are sent to every high school in Australia. 2,000 teachers actively subscribe to the teacher's notes, which are used in 70% of high schools.
Topics produced included Water, Biodiversity, Greener Farming, Animal Health and Farming for the Future
​Printing of educational materials for schools and educational events to promote MLA / Target 100 educational resources for use in classrooms and online.
Collatoral is aligned with the national curriculum and is targeted to specific age and class groups.
Education Resources Redesign
Refraction Media will re-design the four high school guides and the three primary school guides to landscape versions. This includes project management, developing a new template, design, proofing and use experience testing.
High school guides
• Refraction Media will promote the new series of guides in an exclusive eDM (electronic Direct Mail) to a database of 5,000 high school educations ­ including teachers, librarians, careers advisors and principals.
• A text-box will be included in the soon-to-launched Refraction Education monthly e-newsletter. The box will include 30 words of copy + cover image of the re-designed guide.
Primary School Guides
• Refraction Media will promote the new series of guides in an exclusive eDM (electronic Direct Mail) to a database of 5,500 primary schools.
