Development and Delivery of Capability Building Modules for the MLA Co-Innovation Program

Hargraves Institute and MLA have developed four e-learning modules designed to assist MLA Co-Innovation Managers succeed in their role. The modules include; Innovation Mindset, Leading from Behind, Pitching to Win and Project Management.

Summary

Hargraves Institute worked closely with MLA to develop relevant learning modules using a combination of up-to-date research and experience from our extensive work with leading companies in Australia and internationally.

Objectives

Create, test and produce four capability-building modules designed to help MLA Co-Innovation Managers succeed in their role.

Key findings

The majority of participants rated the courses as 'valuable' or very valuable'.

Benefits to industry

These modules help build capability in the Co-Innovation program. They are also available for broader industry via the e-learning platform.

MLA action

Two face to face meetings are planed for next financial year. They are likely to be held in MLA’s Sydney and Brisbane offices. The e-learning modules are available on the MLA website.

Future research

Attendees were surveyed to identify the next four topics to help Co-Innovation managers succeed in their roles. These modules are likely to include; change management, establishing and maintaining strategic research partnerships, building and maintaining cross industry collaboration, building a business case using financial analysis and forecasting.
