Animal Welfare in the Red Meat Industry | Webinar
Johann Schroder, Program Manager, Health Welfare & Biosecurity, MLA will provide you insight into MLA's research into the issues of animal welfare and address the why, what, when and how for producers in the red meat industry, topics include:
- animal welfare issues MLA are currently doing research on
- what can be done on farm for animal welfare
- future animal welfare issues for the red meat industry
- consumer concerned about animal welfare and what does this mean for producers.
Johann qualified as a veterinarian in South Africa, working in rural private practice and academia before joining the pharmaceutical industry. He became a specialist in Parasitology, doing product development and technical support. Johann settled in Australia in 1998 and has worked for Rural Development Corporations since 2006, first for Australian Wool Innovation, and then Meat & Livestock Australia. Johann is currently the Program Manager: Animal Health, Welfare and Biosecurity.
