The 2018 Wagyu Edge Conference is shaping to be the best ever with planning well advanced.

The conference will run from 2-4 May and the post-conference tour from 5-6 May ending in Rockhampton where delegates may choose to stay on for the triennial Beef 2018 exposition which runs from 7-11 May.

Brilliant facilities at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre will ensure the expected 500 delegates are able to absorb the latest developments in the rapidly growing wagyu industry.

The program includes:

  • markets and industry directions
  • eating quality and product use
  • producing the right product the right way
  • fullblood production- birth to backgrounding
  • making the most of wagyu genetics and genetic tools
  • looking into the future
  • elite wagyu sale.

The conference program is structured around plate to paddock thinking, which was introduced at last years Wagyu Expansion conference in Albury. Plate to paddock thinking considers the end product specification and use in the market as the starting point for planning the wagyu value chain to optimise productivity and profitability for all members.
