Better Management Practices Workshop | Dubbo

Developing an understanding of better management practices on farm and introducing change in the way things should be done. This will become part of a package to bring greater accountability in decision making and implementing industry standards in animal welfare.

Dr Matt Playford will discuss everything internal parasites including resistance management and will focus on pre-lambing. This is a critical time, especially with the forecasted wet summer in limiting peri-natal losses from internal parasites as this is the 2nd greatest costs to the industry.

Dr Greg McCann will look at pain relief options and what producers need to implement on farm. As the new animal welfare policies are developed this is an extremely important topic and one producers do not fully understand their responsibilities. Dr Greg McCann is involved in developing this policy and will be able to guide producers in what they should be doing on farm.
