Field day at Boreelum
Join us for a FREE field day at Coffey Cattle Co. to learn all about how owners Adam and Jacynta combine tree growing with livestock grazing on their 2500-hectare property in Central Queensland.
Discover how integrating trees and cattle on farm can lead to a more productive, profitable, and sustainable future for your business.
This event is part of the Steak n Wood project, and we’ll be showcasing the research we’re conducting in collaboration with Adam and Jac Coffey.
The focus will be on:
- Inspect silvopastoral systems demonstration sites incorporating trees on farm with single and mixture hardwood species; a native forest silvopastoral system that has been sustainable managed to increase tree, pasture and livestock growth rates
- See the preliminary trial results and learn about the successes and challenges
- Discuss the multiple benefits of silvopastoral systems
- Financial outcome of these systems and more!
The full program will be shared soon, and it will include a short presentation from the Coffey family and an overview of the Steak n Wood project. The day will also feature site visits, lunch, and a series of 2–3 brief presentations.
Many thanks to Adam and Jac Coffey for accommodating this field day, and Meat and Livestock Australia for supporting this work. We hope you will find it relevant and useful.
This field day is organised by the Steak ‘n Wood project, led by the Department of Primary Industries and co-funded by Meat & Livestock Australia. https://futurebeef.com.au/resources/steak-n-wood/
