Improving lamb survival on leguminous pasture – Producer Demonstration Site field day

Join Laren Rowlands, Pinion Advisory, at ‘Chester’, Westwood for an in-depth session on improving lamb survival and reducing red gut cases through grazing management on leguminous pastures.

This field day is part of the MLA-funded Producer Demonstration Site (PDS) project led by the Longford Red Meat Group, showcasing practical strategies and early findings to boost productivity and animal health.

Highlights:

  • Hear from host producers Sam Lyne and Andrew Archer on project experiences
  • Project update and preliminary results from the PDS team
  • Animal health spotlight with Dr Bruce Jackson on lamb diseases including red gut and toxoplasmosis

This session forms part of a broader SALRC tour and producer engagement program, which includes a morning visit to Hagley School Farm and an evening SALRC ‘Producer dinner and research priorities forum’ in Longford. These activities provide an opportunity to influence future research and development priorities for Tasmania’s red meat industry.
