Liming is essential for correcting soil acidity, but on Kangaroo Island's sandy ironstone soils, it can trigger manganese deficiency.

AgKI, in partnership with Meat & Livestock Australia’s Producer Demonstration Site
program, invites producers to inspect a paddockscale demonstration investigating pasture responses to manganese after liming.

What you will see:

• Visible pasture differences — manganese-treated
vs untreated (Ecketts)
• Dry-matter responses to manganese rates
and application methods (Loverings)
• Practical tips for identifying and managing
manganese deficiency.
