Age of weaning is an important driver of cow condition, calf growth and whole-herd efficiency  but the relationship isn’t always linear, and outcomes can vary depending on season, feedbase and management.

As the MLA-funded ASHEEP & BEEF Inc Optimising age of weaning in cattle PDS reaches practical completion, were hosting this webinar to share a clear and concise wrap-up of the project’s results.

Veterinarian and PDS facilitator Dr Enoch Bergman and lead producer Nick Ruddenklau will summarise the key findings, including:

  • measurable outcomes from calves weaned at different ages
  • effects on cow body condition, fertility and rebreeding the influence of season and feedbase constraints on weaning decisions
  • management considerations, risks and operational impacts
  • practical recommendations supported by the project’s data.

 Who should attend?

  • Mixed-enterprise producers
