PDS Updates webinar series presents: Unlocking Potential – More lambs from ewe lambs
Join us for a one hour lunchtime webinar showcasing the latest research, PDS learnings and practical tools to help producers lift conception, lamb survival and wholeflock productivity when joining ewe lambs.
This session will bring together outcomes from completed and current MLA investments and share early field results from the ‘More lambs from ewe lambs’ Producer Demonstration Site.
What you’ll hear about
Refining ewe lamb joining targets
Current research is developing evidence-based joining weights expressed as a proportion of mature ewe size – giving producers more accurate, scalable benchmarks for improving reproductive outcomes.
Best practice foundations for ewe lamb breeding
Findings from the completed major investment underpin the upcoming Best Management Practice Guide, including:
- why liveweight outperforms condition score when selecting ewe lambs for joining
- the importance of a minimum 45kg joining weight
- why achieving at least 15kg liveweight gain during pregnancy is critical for lamb survival and ewe performance.
Real-world demonstrations and producer results
Hear the latest outcomes from the ‘More lambs from ewe lambs’ PDS, including onfarm performance, what’s working, and what producers are changing now.
