Coming soon - WormBoss to contain goat advice

19 April 2016

Got worms? Need help solving your worm problem? The good news is that goat-specific practical information will soon be available from WormBoss (www.wormboss.com.au), which is currently Australia's sheep worm control resource.  From September the site will include goat-specific information for:

  • Treatment of roundworms, tapeworms and flukes
  • Regional worm control programs with practical strategies around grazing management, breeding for worm resistance, when to drench and test and managing drench resistance
  • Tests available to use, management tools such as drench decision guides and a drenching database

Producers are invited to suggest reputable service providers (for example vetenarians) so those people can be approached to be added to the service provider list on the website. Producers can also subscribe via the website to receive news and alerts of when the changes have been completed.

ParaBoss is the national organisation that leads the development and extension of best practice information, training and tools to improve parasite management of sheep in Australia. The incorporation of goat-specific information has been supported by the Goat Industry Council of Australia (GICA), through MLA.

For more information please contact ParaBoss Executive Officer Lewis Kahn on lkahn3@une.edu.au

ParaBoss is supported by Australian Wool Innovation, MLA and the Sheep CRC and is managed by the University of New England.
