Reasons to collect sheep records

As the end of the financial year rolls around and you start working out how many sheep you have for tax time, consider sharing that information to provide direction to your industry.
In February, June and October of each year MLA and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) call on producers to complete a critical survey to assess the production capability of the Australian sheep flock.
The current MLA and AWI wool and sheepmeat survey is open until 30 June 2015. All responses received by this date will be entered in the draw to win a Caltex StarCash card worth $1,000.
The questionnaire covers the key aspects of sheepmeat and wool production, including ewes on hand, lambs intended for sale by weight category and numbers of sheep to be shorn.
It is vital for industry to monitor production and producer intentions to generate better forward looking information to guide supply forecasts and help producers make informed business decisions.
