TRAIL scholarship for emerging leaders

19 January 2017

MLA and GICA are sponsoring two places in the next Training Rural Australians In Leadership (TRAIL) program with the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation and are seeking applications from goat producers in Australia for the scholarship.

Set in Canberra, TRAIL is an eight-day leadership program for Australia’s future rural leaders. This program will give you key skills and insights you can apply immediately as a leader and team member. It focuses on:

  • facilitating strategic thinking
  • successful conversations
  • advocacy, influence and political processes
  • communication and presentation skills
  • effective and constructive collaboration.

Who does TRAIL?

TRAIL is for emerging rural leaders who want to increase their foundational leadership knowledge, gain exposure to key role models and develop partnerships with peers for long-term networking and support

When is it on?

26 April to 2 May 2017

How do I get involved?

Submit your application (maximum two pages) to Julie Petty, MLA Goat Industry Project Manager at jpetty@mla.com.au by 28 February, 2017.  Applications should address the following questions/topics:

  • contact information, enterprise type, size and location
  • how would undertaking the TRAIL program benefit you?
  • briefly summarise how you see your future evolving within the goat industry
  • how do you see the goat industry evolving over the next 10-15 years?

Remember, only two scholarship places are available for this round, so get your application in quick!

Please note this is a separate program and scholarship to the previously advertised Australian Rural Leadership Program, which targets established leaders. For more information please check out the Foundation’s website or contact Julie Petty on 0411 680 516 or jpetty@mla.com.au
