One stop fork to farm shop at MLA’s Beef Australia Trade Site

13 April 2018

Producers will have access to the latest information, insights and innovation from fork to farm at MLA’s trade site at Beef Australia 2018.

With the theme ‘Fork to Farm – Fostering Beef’s Prosperity’, the site will provide a one-stop shop for producers to talk with MLA’s team first-hand about any issues, while exhibiting the latest innovation, marketing insights and practical tools for producers’ businesses.

Visitors will gain a first-hand appreciation of current and emerging consumer trends direct from Australia’s beef markets here and abroad. You will then be guided through an interactive tour back through the supply chain to learn how these insights, together with technology, genetics and the power of information can be harnessed to drive the profitability of your beef business.

Over the course of the week, the site will also feature demonstrations showcasing some of the latest technology and innovation from across the industry.  This will include:

  • SwagBot - a world-leading innovation in on farm robotics developed by Professor Salah Sukkarieh of the University of Sydney currently in early prototype phase;
  • Hitachi with Farm Map 4D and d rone technology;
  • Scotts Automation with their BladeStop technology – funded through MLA;
  • A Livelink to walk over weighing technology in operation at Belmont Research Station (CQU)

Key insights across the precincts will include how Australia competes with other beef suppliers and proteins for its share of the dinner plate, a focus on the True Aussie brand utilised across the globe, how to utilise genetic innovation and sustainability.

The site will give producers an opportunity to see how MLA is fostering beef’s prosperity through their levies and other funding.

MLA staff will be on hand throughout the week answer questions from visitors – with the opportunity to sign up as an MLA member and sign up for MyMLA and MyMSA.

MLA’s trade site will be located at Site 1 near the Gate 1 Entrance to Beef Australia – in front of the Walter Pearce Pavilion.
