BredWell FedWell comes to the Lower South East

25 October 2023

The new and improved BredWell FedWell workshop is creating quite a stir with producers around Australia and on 8 November 2023, it’s beef producers in the Lower South East’s opportunity to jump on board.

Focused on profit driver’s, the workshop is provided by Meat & Livestock Australia’s (MLA) and zooms in on how to make the most out of genetics and nutrition to have a positive impact on your bottom line.

BredWell FedWell, which follow’s the annual production cycle, lifts the lid on recent research helps producers apply the outcomes of genetics and nutrition research within their businesses.

The interactive, on-farm workshop will be held at South Killanoola, Bool Lagoon, hosted by Dean and Jenny Eastwood of CC Seymour & Co and delivered by Jake Phillips of Angus Australia on 8 November.

The Eastwood’s are excited to invite producers to their property for the on-day workshop. “A highlight of the day is that producers have the opportunity for participants to compare bulls in the yards with and without BREEDPLAN Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) and consider what this might mean for their own business” Dean said. Producers can then take what they learn and apply this directly to their own enterprises.

During the workshop, attendees also examine their own feed supply and demand and critically consider their approaches to feeding to maximise their genetic investment.

Producers will come away with skills to:

  • help them develop a customised breeding plan aligned to their profit drivers;
  • identify sires and select animals that help meet their breeding objective; and
  • plan to feed their animals to achieve their breeding objective.

The refreshed, highly visual and easy to follow workshop is achieving unprecedented reviews from attendees around Australia with it rating 9 out of 10 each for satisfaction and value and 100% indicating they’d recommend it to other producers. Now is the time for South Australian producers to share in the action.
