Grid to consumer: webinars highlighting the goatmeat value chain

09 Sep 2025

More than 90% of Australian goatmeat is exported to regions such as the United States, Middle East, Asia and Asia Pacific.

As demand for Australian goatmeat in international markets increases, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) have launched a goat levy-funded project in partnership with Greenleaf Enterprises. The project will deliver a three-part webinar series to educate producers on the Australian goatmeat supply chain and markets. It will inform on how to turn practical skills and insight into actions for producers to make the most of market opportunities.

The three-part webinar series,From grid to consumer building a consumer-oriented goatmeat supply chain, is designed to bring all goat producers along the value chain.

Specifically, the series will cover:

  • Demand drivers: delving into how culture, quality, health and supply shape consumer demand.
  • Value chain: understanding Australia’s international and domestic value propositions.
  • Production: addressing the supply of goats to meet the market’s needs.

The webinars will give producers greater insight into different value chains and market pathways that best suit the attributes of each producers goat production system
