Have your say: quality of life for beef cattle
25 June 2020
As part of an animal welfare benchmarking study funded by CSIRO, NSW Department of Primary Industries and MLA, producers and industry stakeholders are encouraged to have their say on the quality of life of beef cattle raised on Australian pasture-based production systems.
Survey participants are also encouraged to share their opinion on which aspects of an animal’s environment and experiences are most important and should be measured when determining quality of life. Participants do not need to have any experience with beef cattle to get involved.
This anonymous survey takes approximately 10–15 minutes. You must be an Australian resident aged 18 years or older to participate.
Next steps
The results of this survey will help the CSIRO animal welfare team develop an effective and meaningful tool for Australian beef producers to benchmark quality of life in cattle raised on pasture.
