Rockhampton to host MLA’s flagship Beef and Advisor events this July

16 June 2025

Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) is bringing two of its most popular adoption events to Rockhampton this July, offering Central Queensland beef producers and livestock advisors a unique opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research, tools, and strategies to enhance productivity and profitability.

The events are a BeefUp forum on 8 July and Livestock Advisor Updates on 9 July, both in the nation’s beef capital, Rockhampton.

These events will be opened by MLA Managing Director, Michael Crowley, who will share MLA’s new strategic vision and the latest in research and innovation in the red meat industry.

BeefUp Rockhampton is tailored specifically for northern beef producers, offering a valuable opportunity to gain insights into the latest MLA-funded research and development initiatives.

The event will feature practical demonstrations focused on improving herd productivity, enhancing pasture management, increasing value of beef produced and strengthening business resilience.

Attendees will also hear directly from successful local producers through case studies that highlight real-world applications of R&D and what the outcomes were on their properties. The event provides a platform for producers to connect with researchers, advisors, and peers from across the industry.

Running in the day following BeefUp, Livestock Advisor Updates is designed for advisors and consultants working with livestock enterprises.

This event will deliver technical sessions on emerging livestock management practices and explore whole-farm systems and highlighting the value of the livestock advisor across the value chain. It also offers a collaborative environment where advisors can engage with MLA experts and fellow professionals to share knowledge and strengthen networks.

These events are part of MLA’s broader commitment to supporting the red meat industry through evidence-based extension and the adoption of innovative practices that drive productivity and sustainability.
