This project and a related project (M. 182) were aimed at searching past and current research in Japan and North America for technology that may assist us in designing production systems to improve the quality of beef sold to Japan. The projects concentrated on non-genetic means of improving marbling or intramuscular fat. In project M.182, interviews with researchers in Japan was carried out and a report has been provided.
